Combining physiotherapy and hydrotherapy provides a multimodal approach to treating a variety of conditions with the aim of earlier return of normal function. Hydrotherapy allows dogs with health conditions like arthritis or hip/elbow dysplasia to take part in non-weight bearing exercise, meaning there is no extra pressure on their joints. Other benefits include:

 

• Increased cardiovascular fitness and muscle strength

• Increased range of joint motion

• Decreased pain and inflammation

• Prevention of secondary complications

Please be aware that before you can book an appointment for your dog, you will need a signed referral form from your vet. Even puppy swims and fun swims need them - it's a law and all registered centres and physios will require one before they can treat your pet. You can find it here!
